Christmas is a wonderful time to make special holiday memories that will last a lifetime. What better way to do this than to make some holiday crafts. So gather your friends and family and make these fun and easy Christmas crafts.
Cinnamon Applesauce Ornaments
The rich color and wonderful scent of these ornaments make them a lovely addition to your Christmas decor. Try hanging a few from a window sill, the sun will heat the ornaments and fill your home with a sweet holiday aroma.
Craft Supplies:
Cinnamon
Apple Sauce
Craft Glue
Cookie Cutters
Ribbon
Toothpick
Instructions:
Mix equal amounts of apple sauce and cinnamon and add 1 teaspoon of craft glue for every cup of applesauce. Mix all the ingredients until you have a firm dough. Roll out your dough to 1/4 inch thickness (less than this will make your ornaments weak and they break easily) and cut shapes with cookie cutters of choice. Poke a hole at the top of each ornament using a toothpick that is large enough to pull a ribbon through. Place ornaments on a cooling rack to dry completely. Depending on how large your ornaments are, drying could take a couple of days. Once your ornaments are dry you can easily remove any rough edges with a little fine sandpaper. Tie a ribbon through the hole. The ornaments can then be decorated with glitter if you like or left natural to enjoy the wonderful scent of the apples and cinnamon.

Fold over and wrap the pipe cleaner around to form the head, tucking the ends inside to hide, this is the back side. The front of the face will be smooth. Glue the wiggle eyes and pompom nose to the face. Cut cloth of choice for hat 6”long X 2 ½’ wide, glue the short ends together to fit head. Make cuts of ½” deep along one edge and about 3/16” apart to create fringe. Turn other edge up and glue in place, making a cuff about 3/8” deep. Cut another piece of cloth ¾” wide X 12” long and place this around the neck to make the scarf. Fold in half and wrap around the neck with an over loop to hold and open the ends and put a dot of glue under the knot to hold in place.
