Halloween parties are a fun way that children and adults can celebrate the holiday without having to run from door to door. These parties allow people to dress up in their favorite costumes and eat foods that they normally wouldn’t touch.

Main Dish Ideas

Before children dig into a dirt pie or devour candied worms they should have something nutritious to eat. Here are some ideas that even the pickiest eater will love:

Pizza Mummies

These adorable miniature pizzas would look great on a Halloween party table or can be served as part of a celebratory feast for the holiday. The amount of people who are eating will influence how much of the ingredients needed. Two whole bagels or English muffins, per person, are an easy way to figure out the amount of ingredients.

Ingredients Needed:
Bagels or English Muffins split in half (whichever the host prefers)
Black Olives cut into thin rings (these are used as mummy eyes)
Pizza Sauce
Mozzarella Cheese Slices cut into small strips (this is for the mummy wrap)

Instructions:
Heat the oven to 350º Fahrenheit.
Spread one tablespoon of pizza sauce over the open part of the bagel or English muffin. Next, take the mozzarella and lay it in strips over the sauce. Some of the sauce should be allowed to show through. Place the olive rings toward the top of the bread and center where eyes would be at if it were a face. Bake the pizza mummies for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

Halloween Spaghetti and Eyeballs

This would make a great meal before children go trick-or-treating or before a big Halloween party.

Ingredients:
2 pounds ground, lean hamburger
1 1/2 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs
2 eggs
1 26 ounce jar of Spaghetti Sauce
1 small jar of pimento stuffed green olives
1 pound of spaghetti noodles

Instructions:
Turn oven to 350º Fahrenheit to preheat. In a big bowl mix the hamburger, bread crumbs and eggs together. Form the meat mixture into meatballs that are the size of golf balls. Press one green olive into the center of each meatball, making sure that the pimento side is not covered as this gives it the impression of an eyeball. Place all of the stuffed meatballs into a baking dish and pour spaghetti sauce over them. Put the filled baking dish into the oven and bake for 45 minutes. This is when the noodles should be started. Place spaghetti noodles into a pot of boiling water and cook until tender. Strain the noodles once done and rinse with cool water to prevent them from sticking together. Place the noodles into a shallow serving dish. Once the eyeballs are finished remove from oven and spoon them over the top of the noodles. The eyes should have the pimentos pointing upward, on top of the spaghetti noodles. Next, spoon the spaghetti sauce over the eyes and the noodles.

Party Drink Ideas

Swamp Water

This is a disturbing looking drink that kids and adults will love the flavor of. Keep extra ingredients handy in a refrigerator to refill the punch bowl as needed.

Ingredients:
Glass Punch Bowl
Lemonade
Clear Club soda
Green Food Coloring
Gummy Fish
Gummy Worms

Directions:
Pour the lemonade and club soda into the punch bowl. This should be mixed in equal parts and fill the bowl 3/4 of the way up. Drop four drops of green food coloring into the bowl and stir. The gummy worms and fish can now be added to the punch.

Slime Punch

This punch recipe is very easy and just as tasty.

Ingredients:
2 two-liter bottles of ginger ale soda
1 Gallon Green Sherbert Ice Cream

Directions:
Place the sherbert into a clear punch bowl. Pour the ginger ale soda over the sherbert. Stir until the sherbert melts and creates a green punch.

Bloody Punch

Ingredients:
Clear Punch Bowl
Food Grade Plastic Gloves (do not have talc on them)
2 ice cube trays
2 bottles Red Fruit Punch
1 bottle of Green Kiwi-watermelon Punch
1 two liter bottle of lemon lime soda
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream

Directions:
Carefully fill 2 plastic gloves with the red fruit punch and tie the opening tightly so that when it is laid flat, nothing leaks out. Do the same with the green punch. Place the four filled gloves flat inside of a freezer and freeze. Fill each ice cube tray with red punch and freeze these as well.

In the clear punch bowl place the ice cream. Pour one bottle of red fruit punch and the lemon lime soda over the ice cream. Stir until the ice cream is melted. When the gloves and ice cube trays are frozen take them out of the freezer. Carefully peel the gloves off of the frozen hands making sure no plastic is left behind. Place the frozen hands into the punch. The frozen ice cubes can also be added to the punch at this time.
