Do you and your family ever wish you could head out to more museums? Maybe you love art and botanical gardens, but sometimes to price of such places can be just a little too much for your budget. I know the feeling. I love history and so museums are simply my thing. I also live in Pasadena, so I have the option of visiting the Huntington Library and Gardens where you could spend an entire day walking around gorgeous gardens from all over the world. And if it’s too hot, just slip into one of their many historical art galleries and exhibits. But the cost is more than I can afford at times. So, I’m right there with you.
Museums are also a great way to teach kids about different things. Most children learn easier if they can see and/or touch things. Museums usually don’t let you touch, but if children can see something instead of just read about it in a book or hear someone tell them about it, they might just remember it! Well, you might be interested to know that Target is trying to help you and your family “discover, learn and inspire” by having FREE – yes I said free – Arts and Cultural Events all around the United States. They are doing this to support the education in the communities they serve.
So, head to Target.com/arts to find a Target Arts & Wonder Free Family Event at a museum or performing arts institution near you. It only runs July 16-18 – that’s this weekend – so find your spot and learn something!
